Mad Love – Mad People?

When we speak about a relationship some people are involved in, or especially when we are going to define this relationship, to give a certain name to it basing on its characteristic features, it is highly necessary to take into account the character of people who are associated with this very relationship as well.
Because when a person, for instance, is unfaithful and dishonest enough to be a good friend, it means that we cannot call his or her close relations with certain people 'friendship'. In other words, people's relations are usually characterized by the way they show themselves in these relations and i.e. by the examples and manifestations of their characters.
Can we call people who usually get involved in mad love mad? Can we say that they are totally crazy and need to go and reside in a lunatic asylum instead of wandering purposelessly along the road of life where it's necessary and even obligatory for everyone to create something worthy?
No, we can't say that people who are involved in mad love are totally mad as well. However, we have a right to judge these people – both men and women – as someone highly eccentric, someone who not only strives for such relationship but someone who also has potential and strength and sort of 'talent' to get involved in them and successfully proceed with building them for some time.
People who are into mad love sometimes do have certain 'light' mental disorders. They are either depressive or hysterical, sometimes it's all about borderline personalities or any other not too serious deviations from 'mental normality'. As a rule they are people of creative professions – talented artists, musicians, writers or poets – people who by their nature differ from others. Often this difference is supported by taking some substances which cause these 'deviations' or 'artistic' hallucinations.
